As someone who plays the violin, I know how complicated it can be to learn the correct posture for this instrument. Drawing a violinist was a challenge because I knew I had to illustrate such a difficult pose. I wanted to make sure that the arms and hands looked as accurate as I possibly could make them. This drawing study was very rewarding for me because I think I illustrated the proportions and positions of the arms and hands effectively. I also like how I’ve drawn the chin resting on the violin chin-rest. I am fond of this sketch because it makes me think of my journey learning to play the violin. Illustrating subjects that relate to my experiences can be very therapeutic for me.
