This is another Draw This In Your Style challenge I participated in. The artist had called it ‘9 of Poppies’ and I thought that sounded like a playing card game, so I decided to illustrate the character as a playing card. I started by sketching out the composition and adding red colour where I wanted the poppies to be. Then I sketched out the features and used my hand as reference for the pose. After the sketch was done, I added the shading. I enjoyed making this illustration and I think I’d enjoy illustrating my own original deck of playing cards.
