I wasn’t sure of what to draw one evening, so I asked my friends for requests. One of my friends asked me to draw the dog from the Howl’s Moving Castle film. It was fun sketching this character because I don’t draw dogs very often and the film has a unique art style I was excited to try. Another friend requested that I draw the character, Vaggie, from the animated show Hazbin Hotel. I love the art style of Hazbin Hotel and admire the character designs the creator, Vivienne Medrano, has made. Drawing characters in her style is always very insightful because it helps me understand what elements of her visual language I find most attractive and how I can take inspiration from it.
