This was a page in my sketchbook at a time when I started drawing animals more. Before this, I mostly illustrated people. I really enjoyed the problem solving I had to do when illustrating an animal. Animals have so many different shapes and figuring out the right foundations to draw a particular animal is like solving a fun puzzle. I think in some ways I find drawing animals easier, at least compared to drawing people. It took me a long time to learn the right proportions and subtle details when drawing people. I think that there are more rules to drawing a person because certain details that are off can make a big difference to the overall image, whereas I think animal anatomy can be a bit more forgiving because of how much variety there is in different species.
