These are all concept illustrations for the protagonist of my current story. Her design is constantly evolving as she is a relatively new character compared to a lot of the others I have. I focused on having a recognisable silhouette, concise colour palette, and the right shape language to fit her character. I used mostly rounded shapes to illustrate her soft and refined side, but I also added sharper shapes in certain areas to convey the sternness she also has in her. Her design is old fashioned because she is a ghost (I also tried to make her skirt appear like the shape of a cartoon ghost), but she’s also very feminine and beautiful. I love exploring feminine characters with an edge to them.
